Mary is a writer, editor, therapist, weaver, mentor, communication consultant and coach with 22 years  experience working with large organisations, hospitals and universities.


Mary surfs emotions and ideas. She is currently working on two poetry collections, a novel and a PhD bridging Creative Writing and Oral History. Her writing has been widely published internationally. Her secret vice is reading The Economist and the Financial Times. Mary’s first book, The Last Pair of Ears, has recently been shortlisted for a Saltire Society Literature Award.


In her work with GADFLY, Mary analyses communication across whole systems. She uses writing and active listening to help people and organisations to explore, understand, and record the ways in which they have changed and are changing.
